Hundreds of cyclists ride in the annual Le Tour de Downbeach.

Le Tour de Downbeach Spooktacular 10th anniversary family bike ride will be held Saturday, Oct. 6 (rain date Oct. 7).  Get your “scary on” and incorporate your Le Tour T-shirt into your Halloween costume to receive great prizes. Riders are asked to refrain from decorating their bicycles.

The first 200 registrants will receive a Sugar Skull bicycle bell and commemorative 10th anniversary T-shirt.  All riders will receive a ghoulish tattoo and admission to the barbeque.

The family friendly 14-mile bicycle tour begins in Ventnor at Newport Avenue and travels through Atlantic City, Margate and Longport and ends with a barbecue at Tomatoe’s restaurant on Amherst Avenue in Margate.

Pre-registration cost is $20 per rider or $15 each for four or more family riders.  Day of ride registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and is $25 per rider or $20 each for four or more family riders.

The City of Ventnor, Margate Business Association, Borough of Longport and Atlantic City collaborate for the annual event, which began as Le Tour de Ventnor in 2008.

The event is sponsored by Tomatoe’s, Margate Dairy Bar and Burger, 95.1 WAYV, 100.7 WZXL, Congo Falls, Margate Business Association, Ventnor City and Margate City.
