MARGATE – The Margate Business Association held elections for the 2019 Board of Trustees during its annual Holiday Party held at Bocca Coal Fired Bistro Tuesday, Dec. 11. Executive Board members are Ed Berger of Mediagate Marketing, president; Karen Sherman of Tomatoe’s Restaurant, vice-president; Nancy Lynch of OceanFirst Bank, treasurer; and Randy Young of Heritage Surf and Sport, secretary.

Trustees are Glenn Darby of R.E. Darby Insurance Company, Paula Hartman of the Hartman Home Team at Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach Realtors, Christopher Gualtieri of Barrels Restaurant, Cookie Till of Steve & Cookie’s By The Bay, Dr. Joseph Berretone DMD, Maria De Phillipo of Nix Salon, Rev. Jim Rixon of Trinity United Methodist Church and Michael Collins of Colmar Home Center.

The Margate Business Association works to promote the economic and physical revitalization and welfare of local businesses and the bayfront district of Margate. It assists the community by providing scholarships for local students, sponsoring events that promote family activities and providing assistance to local government.

The MBA organizes the city’s premier events, including Margate Fall Funfest By The Bay, Beachstock: The Planet’s Biggest Beach Party, Shop Small Weekend, Thrilling Thursday Movies on the Beach and the annual Wine Tasting scholarship fundraiser. It also produces the Margate City map and Margate City calendar.
