MARGATE – It’s January and time for another great Eugene A. Tighe School musical. This year, students are offering three performances of Aladdin Jr. Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 17-19.

The show is based on the 2014 Broadway musical, Disney movie and book by Chad Beguelin, with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin. More than 60 students will don exotic costumes and tap shoes for the production, which features a whole new world of family enjoyment.

The show is directed by music teacher Debbie Roland and choreographed by Melanie Brough. Band members include Jim Daly, Roland, Robert Roland and Jack Zoltek. Popular songs include “Friend Like Me,” “Prince Ali” and everyone’s favorite, “A Whole New World.”

The show is double-cast with Ellie Taube and Cally Murphy playing Genie; Brian Garrabrant and Jaden Hansen-Greenberg as Aladdin; and Kallan Tripician and Morgan Murphy as Jasmine. Gavin Grant and Thorne Swift play the Sultan and Vova Sulima, and Justin Parsons play Jafar.

Showtime is 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 1 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets are available at the door.
