MARGATE – Maynard’s Café on Amherst Avenue is hosting its first-ever Pop-Up Market 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, and two other businesses are jumping on board the holiday weekend event.

“This is the first time we are doing it,” Maynard’s Manager Stephanie Troiano said. “We paired up with Heritage Surf Shop and Steve & Cookies By the Bay to create a buzz on the 20th,” she said.

Maynard’s will be hosting 12 local artists and vendors in the bar’s enclosed and heated pavilion, while Heritage Surf Shop is having a big sale with musical entertainment to go along with 20-50 percent discounts on merchandise. Steve & Cookies is hosting a special Sunday brunch with Whistle Pig cocktails.

“We are doing this to support other local artists and businesses. Some will be selling artwork and other will be offering homemade foods,” Troiano said.

There will be a little something for everyone at the pop-up. Vendors include Stir It Up Catering offering homecooked bites, Tom Smith Art with his dog and people portraits, and Oz Rods and Boards will be selling fishing rods and surf boards. Hemp Worx will be selling CBD oils and muscle rubs, while Anything Goes will be presenting wood pallet artworks and MADE will be satisfying chocolate cravings. There’s even something for fur babies, with Paw Dazzle selling pet products and homemade dog treats.

“Some of the vendors work or used to work at Maynard’s,” Troiano said.

The first-ever event is limited to 12 vendors who have already reserved space in the pavilion, but Troiano said the bar is anticipating holding other events when it the weather gets warmer.

“We’re limited with space right now, so we are just taking names and numbers for future events,” she said.
