MARGATE – Maynard’s Café on Amherst Avenue held its first-ever Pop-Up Market Sunday afternoon.

Knowing they might be stuck indoors for a few days due to rapidly dropping temperatures, hundreds of people turned out while it was still warm to shop the vendors, enjoy some music, have a little Sunday morning libation or enjoy brunch at Steve & Cookies By The Bay. Heritage Surf Shop a few blocks away held a big sale along with music.

It was the first time Maynard’s held the pop-up event to enliven the MLK Day weekend. Manager Stephanie Troiano organized the event to “create a buzz” on the avenue, she said.

Steve & Cookies held a special Sunday brunch and silent auction to raise money for the Atlantic City Boys and Girls Club.

Vendors included Stir It Up Catering, Tom Smith Art, Oz Rods and Boards,  Hemp Worx, Anything Goes, Paw Dazzle and MADE chocolates, among others.

Future pop-ups are planned, Troiano said.
