OCEAN CITY – Students and staff at the Ocean City High School received a special visit from New Jersey Education Commissioner Dr. Lamont Repollet on Friday, Feb. 1.

Meeting students in the library.

Repollet was greeted at the entrance by senior and N.J. State Board of Education Student Representative Nora Faverzani, Schools Superintendent Kathleen Taylor and high school Principal Matt Jamison, along with school board members, students, faculty members and even the school district’s mascot, Howie.

“We are extremely honored and privileged to welcome Dr. Repollet today,” Taylor said. “I am grateful that the commissioner was able to experience both the pride our school community exudes, as well as the continued efforts put forth by our district.”

The commissioner was in the area attending “TECHSPO,” New Jersey’s Premiere Educational Technology Training and Exhibition Conference, sponsored by the New Jersey Association of School Administrators, which was held in Atlantic City last week.

During his visit, Repollet met and spoke with many students throughout the morning.

The visit included a tour of the Wellness Center and the new state-of-the-art TV/Media Center, where Repollet was able to try his hand at weather forecasting thanks to the OC Current/Billows student producers.
