ATLANTIC CITY – Atlantic City AFL has announced that five, fan-submitted name options will appear in an online poll, the results of which will be used to determine the official name of the league’s newest franchise. The five name choices are Atlantic City Blackjacks, Atlantic City Gamblers, Atlantic City Jackpot, Atlantic City High Rollers and Atlantic City Royals. Fans can access the poll at www.CatCountry1073.com.

When the league announced the franchise beginning with the 2019 season, the organization rolled out a contest to give fans the opportunity to enter their desired name choice through www.atanticcityafl.com. The individual submitting the winning name will receive inaugural season tickets, an official game helmet and team  merchandise.

The franchise received nearly 2,000 name submissions, which were then narrowed down to the top 10. From there, the 10 remaining names went through an internal review process, including a legal review, which ultimately led to the final five team name options.

“Receiving nearly 2,000 submissions of potential team names in less than one week really shows the excitement within the community about its new AFL team,” AC AFL team President and COO George Manias said. “It confirms that we came to the right market. We are excited to see the final vote and get started developing brand identity.”

Fans can vote for their desired team name once a day until 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8.

The team will play at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. Advance season tickets are available by calling 609-783-9494 or see AtlanticCityAFL.com.
