MARGATE – City Commissioner John Amodeo swore in Margate’s newest firefighter Thursday, Feb. 21 during the Board of Commissioners meeting. Christopher Shea took the oath of office while his daughter Gianna held the Bible and his wife Nina and dad looked on.
Shea has lived in Margate since he was in the sixth grade. He attended Holy Spirit High School and served in the U.S. Air Force before college and working in the casinos, Amodeo said.
Shea was a volunteer firefighter in Longport before joining the Margate Fire Department and was certified as an emergency medical technician in 2016. He is the recipient of the Donald DaGrossa Award given for those who excel in the written portion of the firefighter exam.
