5th annual ACUA Recycled Art Contest

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The Atlantic County Utilities Authority is holding its fifth annual Recycled Art Contest, which asks Atlantic County youngsters and adults to create art from materials destined for the recycling or trash bins.

Artwork must be made from recyclables or trash and be a maximum of 2 feet square. All the pieces must be secured with no sharp edges.

Artwork with entry forms attached must be submitted between Friday, March 29 and Saturday, April 13 at local Atlantic County Library System branches in Brigantine, Egg Harbor City, Egg Harbor Township, Galloway Township, Hammonton, Mays Landing, Pleasantville, Somers Point or Ventnor.

Entries will be judged in the following categories: 8 and younger, 9-13, 14-18, 19 and older, and groups.

Artwork will be displayed at library branches until Earth Day, April 22. Select artwork will be transported to the ACUA for judging and showcased at the ACUA’s annual Earth Day Festival being held at Fritz Hanemann Park on Delilah Road Sunday, April 28.

Winners will be notified on April 24-25, and prizes awarded at a ceremony planned for noon, Sunday, May 5 at the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing. Entries will also be displayed at the mall throughout the month of May.

Entries on display must be picked up 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 30 or 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1. Other entries must be picked up at the library branches April 23-28.
