LONGPORT – The Board of Commissioners Wednesday, April 17 honored outgoing Tax Assessor Jeffrey Hesley for his 22 years as the borough’s tax assessor.

Mayor Nicholas Russo said Hesley deserved to receive a Rolex watch, but he got a proclamation instead.

“He has always been very professional,” Russo said.

Hesley retired on April 1, and “consistently performed to the best of his ability during his tenure,” the proclamation stated.

He was recognized for meritorious service, loyalty and dedication to the residents of Longport.

The borough is currently seeking his replacement.
