Edwina, Roger and Jennifer Hansen.

MARGATE – The Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center, 501 N. Jerome Ave., will honor the Hansen family at its Annual Gala being held 6 p.m. Sunday, April 23.

From the early 1930s, when they founded Ole Hansen & Sons, which built roads and bridges in the area, the Hansen family has been a force for good and exemplified volunteerism and corporate citizenship.

Roger Hansen served the Atlantic City Medical Center and AtlantiCare Health Systems for more than 30 years, including as chairman of the medical center. His wife Edwina has served as a trustee at AtlantiCare Behavioral Health and Stockton University Foundation. Daughter Jennifer continues the family tradition through her work with the Hansen Foundation, where the main focus is recovery from drug addiction and alcoholism. The foundation works to assist those who need access to substance abuse treatment and provides sober living facilities for those in recovery.

The 2019 Gala Committee includes chairpersons Susan and Neil Cohen, Eric and Lisa Share, Steven and Amy Brog, Robert and Helene Hordes, Leonard and Marla Rosenthol and Janice Burg-Levi and Ralph Levi.

Proceeds benefit families in need, early childhood education, summer camps and more.

Tickets are $200 and are available by calling Melissa Vola at 609-822-1167 or email mvola@jccatlantic.org. Sponsorships are available.
