Arthur J Ogren, Inc. built this ground-breaking structure located on the Atlantic City Expressway. Built as a focal point for visitors approaching Atlantic City. It is unique in its tent-like structure and illuminated light show, a perfect compliment to the casino industry and the city it represents. The facility will close permanently on May 1.

ATLANTIC CITY – The Atlantic City Visitor Welcome Center at mile marker 3.5 on the Atlantic City Expressway will officially close Wednesday, May 1, according to a release from Casino Reinvestment Development Authority Director of Communications and Marketing Larry Sieg.

The CRDA, which oversees the Tourism District Welcome Centers, will offer expanded services and hours at the existing Boardwalk Information Center, located at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, Mississippi Avenue and the Boardwalk.

The CRDA will also continue to staff the Concierge Desk at the Atlantic City Convention Center during select shows.

“With visitors now accessing travel information through online social media and other mobile devices, and the availability of tourism information on the internet, we are adjusting to modern times and willing to meet visitors where they are,” Sieg said. “The increased services and hours at the Boardwalk Information Center and the Concierge Desk, along with a more robust social and digital marketing presence should sufficiently meet the needs of Atlantic City visitors here in the Tourism District.”
