MARGATE – Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man who broke into Downbeach Liquor Store and stole an undetermined amount of cash.

It was around 3:45 a.m. Monday May 20 that the burglary took place at the store located at 7950 Ventnor Ave.

The suspect gained entry by throwing a rock through the front door of the store shattering the glass door. Once inside, he removed the cash register drawer of one of the checkout terminals and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then left the area on a bicycle with the cash register drawer under his arm and fled on Ventnor Avenue toward Ventnor City.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing blue jeans, light colored hooded sweatshirt and white sneakers. He also wore a blue bandanna type garment to cover his face.
