The Ventnor Education Foundation held its second annual Color Run on school grounds Saturday, June 1. Nearly 100 children and adults participated in the fun run.

It was seventh grader Mattie Sarno’s second year running.

“It’s fun. We get to run through the colors and being with our friends is cool,” she said.

The 1-mile fun run included three laps around the parking lot. There were six stations set up to spray the runners with colored water.

After the run, the children gathered in the playground to explode their color bombs. Several children participated in the hula hoop contest.

The event was organized by Ventnor Education Foundation President Brittany Czekai and Treasurer Xan Grant.

“This is a great way to help our schools with funding from outside sources,” Grant said. “It’s also a way to give our sponsors some exposure and put on a nice, fun event.”

Proceeds of the Color Run will fund teacher mini-grants and offer school support in areas not funded by the school district, Grant said.
