Doug Farrell of Longport has penned a children’s book that teaches valuable life lessons.

The Longport Public Library is presenting a summer series of author visits.

At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, Longport resident Doug Farrell will be reading his new book, “Humpy Saves the Day” to children. For insight into Farrell’s tale of Humpy, the green sea turtle, click here.

Marie Carhart will be reading from her book, “Ralphie’s BFFs” 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13.

Mystery writer Jane Kelly will be reading “Mysteries of Atlantic City” 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30.

Children’s book illustrator Julia Mills will be talking about how to illustrate a children’s book 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.

And, New York Times bestselling book author Lauren Grodstein will be reading from her work, “Our Short History: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13.
