VENTNOR – The annual Ocean Breeze Art Show was a cool place to be Saturday, July 6 amid the sweltering humidity and brilliant sunshine. Despite storms being forecast later in the day and a lack of parking due to a road closure for house fire a block away, artists set up their wares and welcomed hundreds of patrons, many of whom rode their bicycles to the show.

Artists and fine crafters were set up under tents surrounding the Ventnor City Cultural Arts Center building on Atlantic Avenue. A few lucky vendors got to set up inside the air conditioned hallway outside the library and Ventnor City Historical Society.

Artists were selling exotic gems surrounded by hand-crafted silver jewelry, photography art prints, handmade clothing creations, along with fine art paintings, woodworking and pottery.

One young man was hard at work selling lemonade to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Chase Metzger of Jenkintown, Pa., was doing his fundraising for the fifth year in a row to honor his brother Shane, who died of cancer about 10 years ago.
