The Cape Atlantic Coalition for Health offered free skin cancer screenings Saturday, July 6 at the Newport Avenue gazebo. The health check was one of several screenings being offered in Atlantic and Cape May counties this summer.

The next free Choose Your Cover screening in the Downbeach area is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at the 35th Avenue gazebo in Longport.

No registration is required. Screenings will be conducted by Schweiger Dematology and Cape May County Health Department.

Other screenings will be held 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Saturday, July 20 at Cape May Convention Hall; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28 at JFK Promenade in Sea Isle City; and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25 at McClinton Park on New Hampshire Avenue in Atlantic City.

The coalition is a regional chronic disease prevention organization funded by the New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Cancer Control and Prevention. The organization works to reduce the state’s cancer burden and improve health outcomes for people with, or at risk for, cancer and other chronic diseases in Atlantic and Cape May counties. Shore Medical Center is lead agency for Atlantic and Cape May counties.
