Traffic Advisory

Atlantic County government issued the following traffic advisories starting July 29 for infrastructure projects along several mainland roadways.

Ocean Heights Avenue, Linwood/Somers Point

Beginning Monday, July 29 and continuing for approximately five weeks, a traffic detour will be in effect on Ocean Heights Avenue between Route 9 and Shore Road on the border of Somers Point and Linwood, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, weather permitting, for work by the New Jersey American Water Company. In the event of inclement weather, work may also occur on Friday.

Police and traffic directors will be on site to assist. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour and plan travel time accordingly or seek an alternate route. Local residents will have access to their properties.

Washington Avenue, Egg Harbor Township

During the evening and overnight hours on Monday, July 29 and Tuesday, July 30, a detour will be in effect on Washington Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, between Fire Road and the Garden State Parkway, 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting, for work by South Jersey Gas.

The Garden State Parkway Exit 37 onto Washington Avenue will remain open, but motorists will be directed westbound onto Washington Avenue. 

Police and traffic directors will be on site to assist. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour and plan travel time accordingly or seek an alternate route. Local residents will have access to their properties.

Mill Road, Northfield

Beginning Wednesday, July 31 and continuing for approximately four weeks, a detour will be in effect in the westbound lane of Mill Road in Northfield between Shore Road and Route 9, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, weather permitting, for utility work by the New Jersey American Water Co. The eastbound lane will remain open to traffic.

Police and traffic directors will be on site to assist. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour and plan travel time accordingly or seek an alternate route. Local residents will have access to their properties.
