The Downbeach communities of Ventnor, Margate and Longport will hold their annual Hurricane Preparedness meeting 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 at St. James Memorial Hall, S. Newport and Atlantic avenues.

Representatives from all three Offices of Emergency Management, Atlantic County OEM, South Jersey Gas and Atlantic City Electric will share information needed to protect life and property during an extreme weather event.

Discussions include preparing Go Kits, supplies needed, evacuations, CodeRED notification system, pet safety and how to become a Community Emergency Response Team member.

Retired National Weather Service forecaster Jim Eberwine and Press of Atlantic City Meteorologist Joe Martucci will also speak about hurricane forecasting and warnings, and offer an outlook for this year’s hurricane season.

The public is urged to attend.
