Artist Al Johnson

MARGATE – The Holtzman Gallery is showcasing “Dream Portals: Gateway to Painted Imaginations” by artist Al Johnson through Sept. 8 in the lobby of the Milton & Betty Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Ave.

A meet and greet with the artist will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday Aug. 29.

The event includes wine and light fare and is free and open to the public. All fine art is available for acquisition.

An illustrator, fine artist, educator and mentor, Johnson has developed an artistic style that captures the classical and weaves it with the contemporary to create bodies of work that exemplify his individual style. His mix of color and shapes through abstract expressionism allows the viewer to interpret what they see and feel.

The exhibit is open daily during JCC hours: 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
