Dr. K’s Motown Review

The Margate City Public Library and Lucy the Elephant will present a free end of summer concert featuring Dr. K’s Motown Review, 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 on the Decatur Avenue beach in front of Margate’s iconic historic landmark.

“Lucy is the perfect venue for us to present this outstanding group as we begin the Labor Day holiday weekend,” Margate Library Director Jim Cahill said.

“We are grateful to Jim, Charles and the Margate Library for making this event possible and bringing it to Lucy,” Save Lucy Committee Executive Director Richard Helfant added.

People are encouraged to bring their beach chairs and dancing shoes as Dr. K plays the magical music of Motown. It is suggested that concert goers allow extra time for parking as the busy Labor Day weekend begins.

Holiday weekend hours are:

  • Margate City Free Public Library: Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Labor Day Monday, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Lucy the Elephant: Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday and Labor Day Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Lucy’s fall schedule begins on Tuesday, Sept. 3: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; weekends, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
