MARGATE – In addition to popular local bands taking the sound stage between Jefferson and Madison avenues every hour during the two-day Fall Funfest, children’s activities and dozens of vendors and food offerings, festival goers will have the opportunity to learn about South Jersey’s fragile marine life.

Ray Scott’s Dock will present its “Wetland Wonderland” program featuring displays and educational programs offered by the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, Surfrider Foundation South Jersey Chapter, Angels in the Pines goat farm, Terrapin Turtle Release’s Turtle Experience and a Backbay Eco Kayak Tour.

Activities on the Kid’s Stage at Monroe and Amherst avenues include the Joe Holiday Family Magic show at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Bright Star Gymnastics, Christine Piper and Blake’s Gymnastics will be showing their acrobatics and students in Suzie Neustadter will be sharing their singing talents.

More than 65 juried artisans will offer a variety of handmade crafts, including pottery, photography, home décor, candles, soaps, jewelry and artisan foods.

The Fall Funfest, organized by the Margate Business Association, will be held 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. Adults can enjoy Funfest After Dark starting 8-11 p.m. Saturday, with live music by Mas Tequila Orchestra, dancing, wine and spirits tastings. Tickets are $20 at the event.
