Shred and recycle important documents.

MARGATE – Now that the summer is over and the focus switches to preparing for the holidays, it’s time for the autumn version of spring cleaning.

Margate residents can protect against becoming a victim of identity theft by disposing of important documents safely and effectively. City residents can take important documents that may contain sensitive information to an upcoming recycling shredding event.

Margate will hold its annual Shredding Day, 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Public Works yard, 101 N. Benson Ave., at the base of the Lucy water tower.

There is no limit on the amount of paper that can be shredded, but please do not leave any plastic bags behind.

This event is open to Margate residents only and proper identification proving citizenship is required.

For more information, call Clean Communities Coordinator Anthony Edge at 609-822-5038.
