Shred and recycle important documents.

Longport residents can participate in Margate’s Paper Shredding Day being held 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Margate Public Works Yard, 101 N. Benson Ave.

Because shredded paper is no longer accepted on recycling collection days, Margate and Longport are encouraging residents to eliminate the risk of identity theft by taking advantage of this free service. Both Margate and Longport residents will be required to show proof of residency to participate.

Important papers with personal information can be taken to the shredding machine to be destroyed.

Although shredded paper cannot be placed in curbside recycling bins, it can be recycled at ACUA’s shredded paper drop-off location at the ACUA Environmental Park, 6700 Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township.
