177th Fighter Wing

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The 177th Fighter Wing, which makes the Atlantic City International Airport location its home, will continue Wing training exercises through Saturday, Oct. 24. Last month, the Wing conducted night training missions. This week, the training is focusing on ground missions as well.

Residents surrounding the area can expect training operations to include night flying, as well as exercise related sirens and horns along with pyrotechnic explosions.

The training is designed to evaluate and ensure mission readiness in support of worldwide deployment.

The 177th Fighter Wing has the capacity to be designated an active alert unit at any given time to support NORAD’s no-fail 24-7 mission of defending the skies over North America.
