The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Basketball Championships will be held at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall March 10-14, in the first year of a three-year agreement.

ATLANTIC CITY – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Basketball Championship tournament being held March 10-14 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall is seeking restaurants to participate in its MAAC-n-Cheese Fest being held 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 13.

According to a release, the Atlantic City Weekly MAAC -n- Cheese Fest presented by Gourmet Dining Services is annual staple of the MAAC Basketball Championships.

“MAAC -n- Cheese Fest has been very popular in all of our tournament host cities and we expect another great contest in Atlantic City. It’s a great food town,” said MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “This is something fun for the fans on our semi-final Friday that adds to the festival atmosphere of the event.”

Once in the arena, fans can opt to pay $10 to sample macaroni and cheese  dishes from five participating restaurants and vote for a winner. The winning restaurant will be honored at mid-court during the men’s championship game. There will also be a craft beer and wine area where fans can pay $5 for three samples.

Limited restaurant spots are still available. Local restaurants already on-board for the contest include Gordon Ramsey Steak at Harrah’s, Guy Fieri’s Bar-B-Que Joint at Bally’s, Ducktown Tavern, Phillips Seafood, Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall, Gourmet Dining Services and The Iron Room Restaurant.
