MARGATE – Maynard’s in Margate will host its annual Leprechaun Crawl  Sunday, March 1 to raise funds for Adelaide’s Place, a drop-in center for homeless women in Atlantic City.

This year’s event includes the first-ever leprechaun costume contest with prizes awarded for the best costumes.

Leprechauns can register and enjoy snacks 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. before following the bagpipes down to Steve & Cookies By The Bay between, 1-2 p.m. Then it’s time to head back to Maynard’s 2-3 p.m. for hearty fare and music by the Paul Moore Band.

Adelaide’s Place has been helping women overcome challenges for the last 15 years, offering sanctuary for homeless women who have nowhere to go during the day, links to social services, health care and temporary and permanent housing.

The center is named after Marie Adelaide de Cice, co-founder of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary Catholic Sisters founded in 1790. Adelaide worked with disenfranchised women during the French Revolution.

Tickets are $20 and include a T-shirt and buffet.
