Euonymous alatus, aka Burning Bush is classified as an invasive species in NJ.

MARGATE – Sustainable Downbeach, through the collaborative efforts of green teams in Ventnor, Margate and Longport, has teamed up with Margate Recreation to educate the public about invasive plant species.

The Galloway Township Enviornmental Commission’s film, “Twelve Tenacious Invasives,” will be presented 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 at the William H. Ross Elementary School, 101 N. Haverford Ave.

The film provides expert guidance about proper plant selection, plants to avoid and those that encourage pollination by bees, butterflies and other pollinators that are critical to a healthy environment. A Master Gardener will be there to answer questions after the film.

The event is open to the public and landscapers are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served. No pre-registration is necessary.
