EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The Atlantic County Office of Highway Safety and the South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization will be offering National Safety Council six-hour Defensive Driving classes aimed at providing participants with the practical knowledge and techniques necessary to avoid traffic violations and motor vehicle collisions.

The choices you make behind the wheel can change your life forever. This highly interactive course educates participants about making positive decisions to improve driving behaviors by practicing safe, responsible and lawful driving through a self-assessment risk survey, a series of learning activities and discussions, videos with real-life driver simulations and hazard recognition scenarios.

Participants who complete the course may be eligible to receive up to a 5% discount on their insurance and/or a two-point reduction, if needed, on their NJ driver license.  To confirm discount information, participants should contact their insurance carrier.

There is a required course fee of $10 to be paid through check or money order (cash is not accepted) and made payable to the National Safety Council to receive a certificate and insurance discount/point reduction.

Courses will be held from  9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, April 4 and 25 at the Anthony Canale Training Center, 5033 English Creek Ave. in Egg Harbor Township. Registration is required.
