LONGPORT – The current display at the Longport Public Library’s Art
Gallery features artwork of students from the William H. Ross Elementary School in Margate. Students in Mrs. Thompson’s second grade class attended a reception in the library on March 5. The artwork will be on display through March and April.

The library also announced its lineup for the Summer Author Series, which features author Elin Hilderbrand 6 p.m. Monday, July 27 and Kate Quinn 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17.

Hilderbrand, who resides in Nantucket and is the mother of three teenagers, is a New York Times best-selling author. Her novels include: “Summer of ’69,” “28 Summers,” “What Happens in Paradise,” and “Nantucket Nights.”

Quinn, who writes historical fiction, is the best-selling author of “The Alice Network,” which is this month’s pick for the library’s Sandy Pages Book Club. The book will be discussed 1 p.m. Monday, March 16.

Registration for the author series begins May 1 for Longport residents, June 8 for non-residents. A maximum of two tickets can be reserved.

Poor Man’s Gambit, a Celtic American folk music trio, will perform a free concert 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 27. Registration is required; seating is limited.

Join a free, 2-hour painting class 1 p.m. Thursday, April 2 with artist Nancy McMonagle’s A Touch of Glass. Participants will take home a hand-painted wine glass at the end of the class.

The library will host its second session of yoga classes being held 9:30 a.m Thursdays, April 2 through May 28. Registration is required; space is limited. Non-residents can register after March 23.
