File/Grand opening of the Longport Public Library.

LONGPORT – The Longport Public Library will close 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 and remain closed until March 31 due to the coronavirus COVID-19.

In a release on behalf of the Board of Trustees, library Director Ricky Gerhardt said the library will re-evaluate the situation on March 31 to determine if the library can reopen to the public at that time.

In the meantime, library staff are adding materials to the library’s digital platforms, including e-books, and monitoring requests by telephone, 609-487-7403, or by email to library#longportpubliclibrary.org.

The book drop will be locked and materials will be due when the library reopens.
