The Ventnor and Margate Fire Department brought a little more sunshine to children in the Downbeach community Saturday, April 11. It was a sunny spring day to welcome the Easter Bunny along streets and avenues in both shore communities.

The Easter Bunny set out a noon in Margate and at 5 p.m. in Ventnor. Members of the Ventnor City and Margate City Fire Departments gave the Easter Bunny a ride on their apparatus in an effort to brighten the day of children who have been cooped up at home for weeks.

Children waved to their furry friend from their front porches, while fire engines blared their sirens to announce the arrival of spring.

It is likely Sunday will bring backyard Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets and family holiday dinners.
