Longport Police

LONGPORT – Police here arrested a man and a woman Sunday, April 19 and charged them with numerous offenses, including theft, eluding and drug possession.

According to the Longport Police, it was 4:47 a.m. when Officers Christopher Ricciotti and Albert Maiorano came across two suspicious individuals near 23rd Avenue. As the officers approached, the individuals fled the scene.

A foot pursuit ensued, and Longport Police requested assistance from Ventnor City Police Officer Marc Franco and K9 Joker. At 6:47 a.m., Franco and Joker located the man hiding in an outside shower at a residence between 11th and 12th avenues. Patrol officers later located and apprehended the woman.

They were identified as Henry Gavitt, 27, of Blackwood and Tara Moskowitz, 18, of Delmont. Both were taken to the station for processing.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle initially found to be in their possession had been stolen out of Washington Township and remains under investigation at this time.

They were charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, eluding, hindering apprehension possession under 50 grams and drug paraphernalia. They were released on summonses with a court date to appear in Atlantic County’s Superior Court.
