LONGPORT – As the Church of the Redeemer, 20th and Atlantic avenues, lights the way for seafarers and visitors to the Jersey Shore, the congregation is planning several events this summer that will be open to the public, depending on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a letter sent to congregants.
The church, which usually opens for the season with its first service on Fathers Day, this year on June 21, has announced its lineup of visiting priests and annual events pending social distancing guidelines. Because the church is hosting a wedding on Sept. 19, the season will run through Sept. 20, said Timothy K. Dearnley, chairman of the Board of Trustees.

The church is also hoping to present yoga classes this summer. Also, the congregation has established a Little Free Library.
All programs and services are based on social distancing guidelines. Some church services may be streamed online. More information will be available in June.
