Longport Beach Patrol Headquarters

The Longport Beach Patrol will hold lifeguard tryouts at a date yet to be determined. The date is subject to restrictions imposed by Gov. Phil Murphy’s statewide emergency declaration that was extended on May 5 for an additional 30 days.

According to the beach patrol, applicants will be notified of the test date as soon as the date becomes available but interested parties who are 16 years old before July 1 can submit an application and wavier form. The forms are available on the Longport Borough website. Applications can be mailed to Longport Beach Patrol, 2305 Atlantic Ave., Longport, NJ 08403 or dropped off at the Borough Hall dropbox in the Police Department lobby.

Applying and testing does not guarantee an open position for 2020. Applicants who obtained a qualifying score in previous years do not automatically get placed on this year’s list.

Those who qualify will be put on a prioritized list for potential openings this summer.
