MARGATE – Although the coronavirus pandemic has prevented the city from holding its normal Memorial Day parade and service honoring those who died fighting American wars, members of the Margate City Fire Department were not to be deterred.

“We put this together this week without publicizing it,” Fire Chief Dan Adams said. “We just wanted to make sure our veterans who died protecting our country were remembered. It was because of them we have the freedom we have today.”

The fire department, PBA, Margate Business Association placed wreaths at War Memorial Park. USMC Major Chris Southard and his son participated in the presentation.
