Atlantic County public health officials reported the death of a 54-year-old Galloway Township man from complications of COVID-19 as well as 10 more residents who have tested positive for the disease. They include three males, ages 25-34, and seven females, ages 1-63.

An additional 29 residents have been cleared as recovered for a countywide total of 1,581 of the 3,045 who were confirmed positive to date. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 211 county residents.

Three of today’s positives were found in Galloway Township, and two each were identified in Hammonton and Pleasantville. Atlantic City, Hamilton Township and Somers Point each had one new case.

County health officials encourage residents and visitors to follow the recommended federal and state guidelines to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and hygiene protocols such as frequent hand-washing and disinfecting common-touch areas. Those who are sick and have symptoms of COVID-19 or respiratory illness are advised to self-isolate and contact their healthcare provider.
