No deaths related to COVID-19 were reported today, the fourth consecutive day without a fatality, according to Atlantic County public health officials.
County officials also confirmed 13 more residents have tested positive for the virus including four males, ages 31-59, and nine females, ages 17-84. This brings the countywide total to 3,613 confirmed cases since March with 2,018 residents having been cleared as recovered. A total of 241 residents have died from COVID-19.
Four of today’s confirmations were found in Hamilton Township, three in Egg Harbor Township, two in Atlantic City and one each in Folsom, Galloway Township, Linwood and Pleasantville.
Atlantic County will continue to provide COVID-19 testing 9-11:20 a.m. each Tuesday in August at its drive-thru facility in Northfield at Rt. 9 and Dolphin Avenue, behind the county public works yard, unless otherwise noted.
The test site is available for both symptomatic and asymptomatic county residents with or without a doctor’s prescription. Residents must make an appointment for testing and provide proof of county residency and appointment confirmation.
Appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org. Those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel no less than 24 hours in advance so others may have an opportunity to fill those spots.
Due to the forecast of inclement weather related to Tropical Storm Isaias, the testing scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4 was postponed and all scheduled appointments have been automatically rescheduled at the same time on Thursday, Aug. 6.

Health officials also remind residents to continue to remain vigilant to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This includes wearing face coverings, maintaining social distancing and avoiding crowds, washing hands frequently and sanitizing common-touch areas, and answering the call if contacted by contact tracers.
