For the fifth consecutive day, Atlantic County health officials reported no new deaths related to COVID-19 and only 11 new positives among four males, ages 18-51, and seven females, ages 17-49.

Five of today’s new cases were found in Egg Harbor Township and one new case was found in each of the following municipalities: Atlantic City, Buena Vista Township, Egg Harbor City, Galloway Township, Hammonton and Somers Point.

These confirmations bring the countywide total to 3,624 cumulative cases with 2,018 residents having been cleared as recovered and 241 residents who have died.

Atlantic County will continue to provide COVID-19 testing at its drive-thru facility in Northfield at Rt. 9 and Dolphin Avenue, behind the county public works yard, 9-11:30 a.m. each Tuesday in Augustunless otherwise noted.

The test site is available for both symptomatic and asymptomatic county residents with or without a doctor’s prescription. Residents must make an appointment for testing and provide proof of county residency and appointment confirmation.

Appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org. Those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel no less than 24 hours in advance so others may have an opportunity to fill those spots.

A list of additional testing locations in Atlantic County is available at: https://www.atlantic-county.org/covid/additional-testing-locations.asp

Health officials also remind residents to continue to remain vigilant to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This includes wearing face coverings, maintaining social distancing and avoiding crowds, washing hands frequently and sanitizing common-touch areas, and answering the call if contacted by contact tracers.
