MARGATE – The streets were bustling with activity Saturday, Sept. 27 as the Margate Business Association held its scaled down version of its annual fall festival due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Shoppers of all ages eagerly searched outside shops in the city’s business district’s for little hidden pumpkins stuffed with prizes. Laughter and screams of excitement could be heard when they found a prized pumpkin containing a coupon or gift tag to be redeemed at a Margate business. All prizes were donated by Margate businesses.

Businesses decorated the front of their shops with brilliant flowers, pumpkins and scarecrows, and visitors were greeted by strolling characters such as Darth Vader, Captain American Minions, Paw Patrol Dog and Princess Poppy Troll. Vocalist Teddi Fusco accompanies by guitarist Toni Teschire filled the air with the sounds of music, while the sidewalks were beckoned with sales and special offers.

As people shopped, played golf at Congo Falls, ate at local restaurants and enjoyed the activities, many took pictures in front of decorated venues and submitted them to win a prize in a virtual contest. Shoppers also took pictures of receipts from any purchase made in

The Pet Salon and PhotoGraphics photographer, Ben Howard hosted Pics with Pets, as families posed with their friends for a timeless memory.
