VENTNOR – In lieu of a larger fall festival, the city held a more reserved Fall Fun Day Saturday, Oct. 17 in the beachfront park at Newport Avenue.

The event included crafters spread out across the lawn at the rear of the Ventnor Community Building. Vendors sold everything from carved wood crafts to handmade facemasks just perfect for social distancing in the time of coronavirus.

People, some dressed in Halloween witches hats, lined up to sample food from several food trucks, while a disc jockey from WAYV 95.1 FM played seasonal rock music, including Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

Amid October’s bright blue weather, children enjoyed playing on the monkey bars and swings, while seniors took a rest on park benches.

A local real estate office distributed more than 100 small pumpkins decorated to please the children.

The day ended with a showing of the popular holiday movie, “Hocus Pocus.”
