A joint project between the City of Margate and Borough of Longport allowed numerous families to feel more secure.

A “shredding event” was held at the Public Works yard on Benson Avenue in Margate Saturday, Nov. 14. Residents of both communities were able to bring confidential documents to be shredded in the Shred-it truck.

According to Pat Power of the Public Works Department, more than 100 vehicles entered the yard to drop off enough boxes of personal documents to fill the shredding truck.

The event was open to residents of Margate and Longport with proof of residency, and a great way to dispose of unwanted documents safely without compromising personal information. All of the paper will be recycled.
