Margate celebrates Shop Small Business Weekend, Nov. 27-29.
MARGATE — The Margate business and restaurant districts will be celebrating Shop Small Business weekend Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28-29 by offering sales, discounts and contests for shoppers, and a drive-through town by America Sign Language Santa. Social distancing and mask wearing guidelines will be followed.
“This year, it’s more important than ever to support local businesses, whether shoppers buy in person, online or purchase gift cards,” said Margate Business Association board member Michael Collins of Colmar Home Center. “The MBA is safely bringing some energy and fun to town with ASL Santa and lots of contests to enhance everyone’s shopping experience at all of our small businesses that we value so much.”
Sponsors and participants are the Margate Business Association, Bocca Coal Fired Pizza, Colmar Home Center, 95.1 WAYV, 100.7 WZXL.
Santa will leave from the Margate Fire Station on Washington Avenue at noon on Saturday, Nov. 28 and will be escorted up Ventnor Avenue to Essex Avenue by the Margate City Fire Department, Police Department and the 95.1 WAYV van.
Due to Santa’s busy schedule, he will be unable to stop for pictures or talk with children. This year, children can drop off their letters to Santa at the slotted mailbox in the foyer of Bocca Coal Fired Bistro on Saturday or Sunday.
A series of contests will be held, including “Receipts are all the Rage,” where a lucky winner will receive $200 in Margate gift cards, “Your Favorite Business Photo Contest” and “Share the Post and Tag Contest.”
Receipts Are All the Rage
Grand Prize $200 in gift cards for a Margate Shopping Spree. Customers can take a photo of their receipt from any Margate business purchase made Friday to Sunday, Nov. 27-29, and send it to info@margatehasmore.com. There will be one randomly selected grand prize winner and three additional winners, who will each receive a gift certificate from the store of purchase. Winners will be notified via email.

Take a picture in front of your favorite business and send the photo to info@margatehasmore.com by Sunday, Nov. 29, for the opportunity to be randomly selected to win a gift certificate.
