MAYS LANDING – Atlantic Cape Community College was recognized for excellence during the annual National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District Level Medallion Awards. Held each fall, the NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges in seven districts.
“We are so proud to be recognized for communications, especially at a time when it’s more important than ever,” said Atlantic Cape President Dr. Barbara Gaba. “We know these are untraditional times and we are trying to stay connected with not just our current students, but also potential students. The team we have in place does a fantastic job and I’m so happy to see them recognized for it.”
This year, Atlantic Cape, which is in District 1, won two medallions. It received a silver medallion for social media in the digital/electronic media category for their Instagram campaign. Over the past year, the college’s Instagram account honored students on the frontlines of the pandemic, provided valuable information to the community and also featured funny and lighthearted posts including the adventures of Atlantic Cape’s Elf on a Shelf.
It also won the bronze medallion for viewbook in the print category. Viewbooks are an important tool in recruiting students, as it offers a complete overview of what the college offers and is most often used during high school college fairs. District 1 is comprised of more than 75 community and technical colleges from Washington, D.C. to Maine, and into several Canadian provinces.
The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations is the leading professional development association that exclusively serves those working in communications at two-year community and technical colleges.
