The Midmer-Losh organ at Jim Whelen Boardwalk Hall is the world’s largest pipe organ.

ATLANTIC CITY – The Historic Organ Restoration Committee has released, “Deck the Hall,” the first recording in 22 years of the world’s largest musical instrument – the  Midmer-Losh pipe organ with its 33,112 pipes.

The ‘Deck the Hall’ CD includes eight distinguished guest organists presenting a variety of holiday favorites on both the Midmer-Losh pipe organ and the W. W Kimball pipe organ located at historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.

On this nearly 74 minute CD, sound from the newly restored Left Stage Chamber of the Midmer-Losh containing over 9,000 pipes will be heard on a professional recording for the first time in 65 years.

The CD is available for purchase at www.boardwalkorgans.org for $20. Proceeds from the sale of CDs will help the Historic Organ Restoration Committee fund the ongoing restoration of these two magnificent Atlantic City treasures.

In addition, HORC works to educate and increase awareness of the unique importance of these instruments as irreplaceable national treasures. The large organ in the main auditorium) is the world’s largest musical instrument. The smaller instrument in the Adrian Phillips Theater is one uniquely suited to the interpretation of silent film.
