MARGATE – The Margate Community Church Wednesday, Dec. 23 held its second annual Live Nativity on the lawn outside the stately brick church.

Adult members of the congregation told the Christmas story through Bible verses and religious hymns. The church’s youth group assumed the roles of the First Family, Three Wise Men, angels and shepherds.

This year, Barnyard Friends of Mays Landing brought 13 farm animals, including sheep, goats, donkeys, a cow and two camels.

“We invited the community to participate in this socially distanced service,” Pastor Vicky Ney said. “We are limited on indoor services to 25% of capacity, so this is an ideal way to have a meaningful service for the community.”
