Atlantic County Health Department Tuesday, Jan. 19 reported 170 new COVID-19 positives, along with the deaths of six county residents, including a 76-year-old Margate man. The new deaths also include two Egg Harbor women, a 69-year-old and an 81-year-old; a 62-year-old Atlantic City woman; an 84-year-old Pleasantville man; and an 81-year-old Galloway Township man who resided in a long-term care facility. All six had pre-existing conditions.

The county reported positives in 86 males, ages 2 months to 89, and 84 females, ages 1-83, bringing the total number of COVID-19 positives to 17,577, with 416 deaths and 7,207 reported as recovered.

Number of “recovered” individuals indicates those who have been confirmed to be clear of symptoms after designated isolation period. Approximately 25% fail to respond to initial contact or follow-up letter and 3% choose not to participate upon contact, therefore their recovery status cannot be confirmed.
