Atlantic County Health Department Wednesday, Jan. 17 announced four new deaths from COVID-19, including a 69-year-old Margate man, a 65-year-old Hammonton man, as well as two long-term care facility residents – a 92-year-old Galloway Township woman and an 85-year-old Egg Harbor Township woman.

To date in the Downbeach area, there have been eight deaths in Margate, one in Longport and 12 in Ventnor. There has been a total of 450 deaths countywide.

The county also reported 123 new COVID-19 positives in 52 males, ages 2-95, and 71 females, ages 5 months to 94. Eighty people were reported as recovered.

Weekly COVID-19 drive-thru testing is available by appointment 9-11:30 a.m. each Tuesday until further notice at the county’s Public Works yard, 617 Dolphin Ave., Northfield. Appointments can be made by calling 1-888-285-2684 or online at https://booknow-atlco.appointment-plus.com/b8nr4gd8/ 

Testing is also now available at the Galloway Township branch of the Atlantic County Library System, weekdays through Friday, Jan. 29. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins will also be accepted. Visit www.aclink.org  to learn more.
