Atlantic County Health Department reported the deaths of two women Sunday, Jan. 31 – a 70-year-old from Margate and an 85-year-old from Buena Borough.

This most recent death brings the death toll from COVID-19 in Margate to 11.

The county also reported 134 new positives in 74 males, ages 4-94, and 60 females, ages 1-89, bringing the total number of cases in Atlantic County to 19,372, or 7.3% of the population.

Weekly COVID-19 drive-through testing has been canceled for Tuesday, Feb. 2 due to the storm. Appointments will be honored on Thursday, Feb. 4.

Starting next week, testing will be offered 9-11:30 a.m. each Tuesday at the county’s Public Works yard, 617 Dolphin Ave., Northfield, by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling 1-888-285-2684 or online at https://booknow-atlco.appointment-plus.com/b8nr4gd8/.

COVID-19 testing conducted by Vault Health at the county’s Galloway Township library branch has been canceled for Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 1-2 due to the storm. Those who had appointments may reschedule for another date and time. Appointments are available weekdays through February 11 and can be made at www.aclink.org.

The county will hold its COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing on Monday, Feb. 1 for those with appointments to receive first doses of the Moderna vaccine.

Clinics for second doses are scheduled by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. Anyone who cannot keep a scheduled appointment should contact the county by email at publichealth@atlantic-county.org.

The state has announced it is closing each of the six regional COVID-19 vaccination mega sites on Monday due to the winter storm. Those who had appointments at the Atlantic City Convention Center will be rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 4. Clients will be notified by email or phone.
