EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The Lidl Store on Fire Road has scheduled its grand opening for Wednesday, April 14. The event has been modified to ensure the safety of customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A ribbon cutting will be held shortly before the store opens at 8 a.m.  The first 100 customers will receive gift cards ranging from $5-100. Customers can also register to win a $500 gift card. Music will be provided by a local DJ.

Those who download the myLidl app will receive a free reusable tote bag.

The opening is part of Lidl’s plan to open 50 new stores on the East Coast by the end of 2021, bringing the total number of stores in the U.S. to more than 150. The company has made a $500 million investment in its new stores, which will create 2,000 new jobs.

Lidl operates more than 11,000 stores in 32 countries, employing about 287,000 employees globally. It specializes in quality fresh produce, meat, bakery items and a wide array of household products at the lowest possible prices.

The store is located in the former JR’s Fresh/Genuardi’s, 3121 Fire Road, just off Tilton Road.
